Creating a Safe Space

The Playing To Live! clinical team plays an essential role in keeping our caregivers and kids safe while engaging in therapeutic play, art making and yoga. Their expertise in therapeutic approaches, theories on trauma, and developmental counseling comes into play when creating the techniques being taught to our volunteer caregivers. 

Here in South Africa, we are noticing that there needs to be an addition in our training where we explore how to create a “safe space” through consistent boundaries and organization. The weeks following the Holiday program will focus on these developments and discoveries.
